Jun. 27 - Aug. 23 - Craig Staufer's recent oil paintings of local scenes and familiar faces. Do you recognize them?

Brown Baggin' It

Aug. 31 - Sep. 27 - Women In Art will explore creating art on, in, with, and about paper bags. Each artist will display two decorated bags, an assortment of art pieces using paper bags and their cousins, kraft paper and cardboard, as well as beautiful non-bag themed art.

Oct. 5 - Nov. 1 - What comes to mind when you think of home? How are we shaped by our experiences within our homes? The PerSisters explore both individual and universal definitions of home, exhibiting artwork in a variety of mediums.

The Seasons

Nov. 9 - Dec. 6 - Cuyahoga Valley Area Plein Air Painters meet weekly May through October to paint outdoors. They document the seasons with artwork ranging from studies to finished studio pieces. In addition, there will be paintings representing an art challenge set by the artists during the winter months.

43rd Annual Medina Needlework Guild Show
Sep. 12 - 13 - Enter a needlework creation in this juried show. Entries accepted Sep. 10 at Brunswick Library until 8:00 pm. Junior category for ages 18 and under. Fee structure and more information.

The Extraordinary Ones: Celebrating Life with Down Syndrome
Nov. 3 - 28 - These powerful and uplifting photographs and stories by Barbara Miceli Pennington give a glimpse into the experiences of people with Down Syndrome - from their achievements and passions to the way they touch the lives of those around them.

Honeybee Quilters Show
Sep. 17 - Oct. 17 - A scrapbook is not just paper; it can be fabric scraps and fat quarters. Experience a year of memories through fabric pieces.

Gallery Spaces

Medina County District Library features four premium art galleries able to display the work of talented artists.

the B. Smith GalleryMedina Library Gallery, known as the B. Smith Gallery, is located on the third floor of the library. The gallery hosts monthly shows in a beautiful space filled with abundant natural light. The gallery hosts national shows, the Medina County Art League's annual Aquarius show in February, and exhibits from local artist and groups.

Thanks to the Medina County Arts Council, the B. Smith Gallery now houses an art display case that allows three-dimensional art to be safely shown.

Lodi Library and Brunswick Library Galleries are located in the libraries' Community Rooms.
